Neuromodulators
Neuromodulators are a class of injectable treatments that temporarily reduce or eliminate dynamic facial wrinkles and fine lines by relaxing the underlying muscles responsible for their formation. The most well-known neuromodulators include Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA), Dysport (abobotulinumtoxinA), Xeomin (incobotulinumtoxinA), and more recently, Daxxify (daxibotulinumtoxinA). These products are derived from botulinum toxin type A, a purified protein that inhibits nerve signals to the muscles, leading to temporary muscle paralysis and a smoother skin appearance.
